FX Option Trader
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the pricing, risk management, and execution of FX Options products, including vanilla options, barrier options, digital options, and structured FX derivatives.
- Execute and oversee client-flow hedging activities within approved risk limits while delivering strong risk-adjusted returns.
- Develop and optimize volatility trading and hedging strategies across FX Options, Forwards, NDFs, FX Spots, and cross-asset products.
- Monitor and actively manage market risk exposures, including volatility surfaces, skew risk, correlation risk, and other derivatives-related risk factors.
- Lead the validation, enhancement, and ongoing development of pricing models and trading analytics for FX options and structured products.
- Drive automation initiatives across pricing, hedging, execution, and risk monitoring processes to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Expand hedging capabilities and liquidity access through interbank counterparties, brokers, and global liquidity providers.
- Partner closely with Structuring and Sales teams to deliver customized FX risk management and investment solutions to institutional, corporate, and financial institution clients.
- Play a key role in the strategic growth of the FX Options franchise, identifying new market opportunities, products, and client segments to support revenue expansion.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior traders and desk members, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment.
- Contribute to talent development, knowledge sharing, and the strengthening of trading processes and risk management best practices across the desk.
Requirements
- Master's degree or above in Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 10+ years of FX options trading experience with a strong track record across market making, volatility trading, pricing, risk management, and hedging activities.
- Deep understanding of FX Spot, Forwards, NDFs, FX Options, and structured FX products.
- Strong expertise in derivatives pricing methodologies, volatility modelling, hedging techniques, and risk management frameworks.
- Previous experience leading projects, mentoring junior traders, or managing trading teams is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to business growth, platform build-out, or desk expansion initiatives.
- Proficiency in Python, VBA, SQL, or similar quantitative and analytical tools is preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen, leadership capabilities, communication skills, and stakeholder management experience.
- Fluent Mandarin and English are required for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
