Execution Tech Developer - Boutique Investment Manager

We are partnering with a top-tier boutique investment manager who is hiring for a Trading Execution Tech Software Engineer to join our growing investment management business in New York. This individual will work directly with the Trading Team to design, build, and maintain the execution systems that support equity trading, order routing, portfolio implementation, and operational workflows.

As trading volumes and assets under management continue to grow, we are investing heavily in our trading technology stack and looking for an engineer who can help scale existing systems while developing new tools and capabilities.

This is a highly collaborative role with direct exposure to traders, portfolio managers, research teams, custodians, and external counterparties.

Our primary development is in C#, but they are open to any languages background (Python, Java, C++).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support business-critical trading applications
  • Build and improve equity order management and execution workflows
  • Develop and maintain FIX integrations with brokers and counterparties
  • Integrate with custodians, prime brokers, and third-party trading platforms
  • Create tools that improve trading efficiency, automation, and scalability
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and operational support capabilities
  • Participate in frequent production deployments and system enhancements
  • Collaborate closely with traders and investment professionals to deliver solutions
  • Help evolve internally developed tools into enterprise-grade systems

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience
  • At least 1 year of professional C# development experience
  • Background working in trading, capital markets, asset management, or brokerage environments
  • Understanding of equity trading workflows and market structure
  • Experience with FIX protocol and electronic trading systems
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
