Equity Investment Analyst - Top-Tier Global Investment Manager

Selby Jennings has partnered with a leading global investment management firm in seeking experienced Equity Investment Analysts to join its investment team in Hong Kong. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-conviction equity strategies through rigorous fundamental research and collaboration with portfolio managers.

As an Equity Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for generating differentiated investment ideas and supporting portfolio construction through deep company and sector analysis. The ideal candidate should bring experience across both the sellside and buyside, with proven expertise in financial modeling and valuation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive fundamental research, including building detailed financial models from scratch (DCF, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis).
  • Develop and present investment recommendations supported by thorough analysis and proprietary insights.
  • Monitor portfolio holdings, attend earnings calls, and update models based on new information.
  • Engage with company management, industry experts, and market participants to gather differentiated insights.
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio managers to ensure disciplined portfolio construction and risk management.

Requirements:

  • 7-12 years of experience, including at least 2 years on the buyside (LO asset management, L/S hedge fund, or similar).
  • A combination of sell-side and buyside experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proven expertise in DCF modeling, financial statement analysis, with the ability to build models from scratch.
  • Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and ability to generate differentiated investment ideas.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Bachelor's degree required; CFA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin (or other Asian languages) considered an advantage.
