As part of their continued growth, they're looking to hire an experienced Carbon Trader to join their London-based trading team. This is a high-impact role at the forefront of environmental markets, offering the chance to shape carbon trading strategies across both compliance and voluntary schemes.
🔍 Role Overview
You'll be responsible for managing carbon credit and allowance trading activities, collaborating with internal teams to optimise performance and unlock new opportunities in a rapidly evolving space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute trading strategies across compliance markets (EU ETS, UK ETS) to maximise risk-adjusted returns.
- Monitor regulatory developments, auction calendars, and price movements.
- Conduct market and policy analysis to inform trading decisions.
- Enhance pricing models and analytic tools for carbon valuation.
- Provide insights to internal stakeholders on market trends and risk strategies.
- Support client pricing and market knowledge sharing with sales teams.
- Improve trading processes, reporting, and position management.
- Align trading activity with broader corporate ESG and sustainability goals.
👤 Ideal Candidate Profile
- 8-10 year's experience in commodity trading, with a focus on carbon markets.
- Proven success in EU ETS and/or UK ETS trading with strong P&L and risk discipline.
- Skilled in structured carbon trades (spot, futures, options, cross-product).
- Comfortable in fast-paced, high-volatility environments.
- Strong communicator with stakeholder engagement skills.
- Detail-oriented with operational discipline across trade life cycle.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for environmental markets.
