A premier West Coast-based insurance company is seeking a driven Assistant Actuary to support its Property & Casualty actuarial team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to pricing, reserving, and redictive modeling across diverse P&C lines - both personal & commercial - while working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in pricing and reserving for personal and commercial P&C lines
- Analyze claims and underwriting data to identify trends and support business decisions
- Develop and maintain actuarial models for rate filings and loss projections
- Collaborate with underwriting, product, and finance teams to support strategic initiatives
- Prepare actuarial reports and regulatory filings
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- 2-7 years of actuarial experience in P&C insurance
- Minimum of 2 actuarial exams passed (CAS track)
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL, R, Python, or actuarial software (e.g., Emblem, Radar) is a plus
- Strong analytical and communication skills
