Account Executive, Commercial Insurance Distribution

Position Overview

A leading specialty insurance organization is seeking an Account Executive to support business development and distribution efforts within an assigned territory. This individual will serve as a key relationship manager between agency partners and underwriting teams, helping drive profitable growth, retention, and market visibility.

The role requires a highly collaborative professional who can develop strategic broker relationships, identify new business opportunities, support renewal retention efforts, and execute territory growth initiatives. Success in this position will come from strong market knowledge, relationship building, and the ability to operate independently within a field-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail and wholesale brokerage partners
* Support new business production, cross selling initiatives, and renewal retention efforts
* Collaborate with underwriting and internal business partners to execute territory strategies
* Increase brand awareness and market presence throughout the assigned region
* Identify growth opportunities and provide market intelligence to internal stakeholders
* Travel regularly throughout the territory to support business development objectives
* Utilize CRM and sales enablement tools to manage pipeline activity and broker engagement

Qualifications

Education * Bachelor's degree required

Required Experience * 5+ years of commercial insurance or related industry experience
* Knowledge of Workers' Compensation and casualty insurance products
* Experience in insurance sales, distribution, marketing, or broker relationship management
* Strong understanding of insurance distribution channels and broker networks
* Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 50% or more)
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms such as Salesforce

Ideal Background * Commercial insurance carrier, brokerage, MGA, or wholesale distribution experience
* Established broker relationships within a regional territory
* Strong business development and territory management skills
* Proven ability to drive growth through strategic partner engagement
