Senior Catastrophe Modelling Analyst

Selby Jennings is proud to partner with a leading insurance group seeking a Senior Catastrophe Modelling Analyst to join its analytics team. This high-impact role offers the opportunity to shape risk strategy and portfolio optimisation in a fast-paced, globally aligned environment, working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative setting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting underwriting teams through detailed exposure analysis, model validation, and the automation of analytical workflows. You'll also contribute to strategic initiatives, help refine internal modelling standards, and represent the team in external forums and industry discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver catastrophe modelling insights across multiple product lines
  • Improve data quality and automate modelling workflows using modern tools
  • Support risk selection, portfolio optimisation, and model evaluation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to strategic planning and innovation

Requirements:

  • 4+ year's experience in catastrophe modelling using RMS and/or AIR
  • Strong technical skills in Excel and SQL; Python, R, and GIS tools (e.g. QGIS) are a plus
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commercial awareness and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
