Join a brand new prop trading firm as a Quant Researcher. Founded two years ago by an experienced investor, the firm is moving towards becoming an outstanding AI-powered proprietary trading platform. This is a greenfield opportunity to be among the first quants shaping the future of the business. It's the chance to work closely with the CTO and CIO to define trading strategy, technologies used, and longer term roadmap. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous research to identify and validate alpha signals across equity markets.
- Design, implement, and back test systematic trading strategies using large-scale datasets.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to source, clean, and structure alternative and traditional data.
- Monitor and refine live strategies, ensuring robustness and adaptability to changing market conditions.
- Stay current with academic and industry research to incorporate innovative techniques and insights.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or Financial Engineering.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or C++; experience with data analysis libraries and frameworks.
- Solid understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning, and time-series analysis.
- Prior experience in alpha research or quantitative strategy development (buy-side or sell-side) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with equity markets and financial instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
