Managing Director - Fixed Income Capital Raising - EMEA

Selby Jennings is working exclusively with a leading global investment manager to support the build-out of a newly formed Investor Sales team. This team will drive the commercial strategy for a newly launched hedge fund strategy, structured as a private vehicle and designed to deliver differentiated returns through a multi-strategy approach.

The fund will target:

  • Bespoke fixed income opportunities
  • Cross-sector portfolio optimisation
  • A forward-looking technology sleeve

The strategy is designed to offer attractive total returns with managed volatility and low correlation to traditional market risks.

Role Overview

This is a senior-level opportunity to join a high-impact commercial team at inception. The successful candidate will work closely with the firm's Chief Investment Strategist and collaborate across product, legal, and client servicing functions to drive fundraising and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagement across institutional and wealth channels, articulating the fund's investment philosophy and performance.
  • Co-develop and execute the distribution strategy, including segmentation, competitive positioning, and go-to-market planning.
  • Identify and cultivate new investor relationships across EMEA and globally.
  • Ensure all sales activities meet regulatory and internal compliance standards.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to prepare materials, lead meetings, manage follow-ups, and contribute to RFPs.
  • Support infrastructure development to enable scalable growth across the distribution lifecycle.

Candidate Requirements

  • 15+ years of proven fundraising experience in alternatives, with a strong track record in hedge fund capital raising.
  • Broad investor coverage across EMEA, including pensions, endowments, foundations, corporates, family offices, and UHNWIs.
  • Demonstrated experience raising capital across both private credit and public credit strategies.
  • Deep understanding of fixed income instruments, bond pricing, and yield analytics.
  • Strong commercial instincts and ability to close complex deals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks governing alternatives distribution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; CFA or advanced degrees preferred.
