L/S Credit Analyst
Our client is a European Hedge Fund with a stellar track record and are seeking to hire an experienced Credit Analyst to join its London investment team. The successful candidate will play a key role in generating L/S investment ideas and conducting fundamental credit research across the high yield, stressed, and distressed universe.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth fundamental credit analysis across European and North American issuers.
- Source and develop long and short investment ideas across high yield, stressed, and distressed situations.
- Analyse capital structures, financial statements, covenants, legal documentation, and restructuring processes.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess downside protection, recovery values, and investment catalysts.
- Monitor existing portfolio positions and provide ongoing recommendations to the investment team.
- Participate in management meetings, creditor discussions, and industry research.
- Present investment opportunities directly to senior investment professionals and portfolio managers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience within credit investing, credit research, special situations, distressed investing, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of high yield, stressed, and distressed credit markets.
- Demonstrable experience conducting fundamental bottom-up credit analysis.
- Excellent financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
- Ability to independently generate and articulate investment views.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic record.
