eFX Trader - Associate

Our client a British bank is seeking an eFX Trading Associate to join its electronic FX trading team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimising electronic spot FX flows, contributing to pricing and risk strategies, and collaborating with technology and quant teams to enhance trading infrastructure.

This role requires a strong understanding of the eFX spot market, hands-on experience with voice trading, and technical proficiency in KDB and Python.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and manage electronic FX spot trades across major and emerging market currencies.
  • Support voice trading activity, including pricing and execution for institutional clients.
  • Collaborate with quant and technology teams to improve trading algorithms and execution logic.
  • Analyse trading performance and market data using KDB and Python to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of tools and dashboards for real-time monitoring and post-trade analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk controls.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in FX trading, with exposure to both electronic and voice trading environments.
  • Strong understanding of the eFX spot market, including liquidity dynamics and execution protocols.
  • Proficiency in KDB/Q and Python for data analysis and automation.
  • Familiarity with FX trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, 360T, EBS).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Experience working in a high-frequency or algorithmic trading environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make data-driven decisions quickly.
  • Passion for financial markets and continuous improvement.
