Position Summary
The Senior Auditor will be a key member of the Internal Audit team, responsible for executing SOX compliance testing, conducting operational audits, and supporting risk-based assessments across the organization. This role offers broad exposure to Kosmos' global operations and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership in a hands-on, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform SOX 404 testing, including ITGC and application controls
- Conduct walkthroughs and document audit processes
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual SOX testing
- Identify and communicate control deficiencies
- Execute operational audits across financial, technical, and administrative areas
- Support audits related to ERM, fraud, HR, payroll, marketing, and hedging
- Participate in annual anti-corruption audits
- Develop audit programs and test procedures
- Prepare high-quality audit documentation and findings
- Collaborate with process owners to develop actionable recommendations
- Communicate results effectively in audit exit meetings
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting or internal audit
- Big 4 experience preferred (1-2 years)
- Oil & Gas industry exposure strongly preferred
- CPA preferred; CIA or CISA also acceptable
- Strong understanding of SOX, operational audits, and risk-based methodologies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
- U.S. citizenship preferred
Work Environment & Schedule
- Hybrid schedule: In-office Monday and Tuesday; remote Wednesday (half-day) and Friday
- Minimal travel required, with occasional trips to Houston and select international locations
- No relocation support provided
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $110,000-$120,000
- Annual Bonus: 20-25%
- Equity: RSUs / Performance Shares
- 401(k): 8% company match

- HSA: Fully funded ($6,000 annually)
- Paid Time Off: 3 weeks PTO, federal holidays, and company-wide year-end shutdown
