Selby Jennings are working with a well-established (re)insurance business in the Lloyd's market, currently looking to expand their actuarial reserving function with the addition of a Reserving Manager.

This opportunity is ideal for a Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary (FIA or equivalent) with strong reserving experience and a solid understanding of the Lloyd's market. The role offers a balance of technical, analytical, and strategic responsibilities, with the chance to contribute to key business decisions.

You'll be involved in leading reserving processes, supporting regulatory and internal reporting, and collaborating with a range of stakeholders across underwriting, claims, and finance. The role also includes mentoring junior team members and contributing to the development of reserving methodologies and tools.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and contribute to reserving processes across multiple lines of business.
  • Support the development and enhancement of reserving methodologies and tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide insights and support business planning.
  • Contribute to regulatory and internal reporting requirements.
  • Mentor and support junior actuarial staff.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.

Role Requirements:

  • Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary (FIA or equivalent) with strong reserving experience.
  • Solid understanding of the Lloyd's market and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with reserving software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with commercial awareness.
