Public Entities Underwriting Director

Role Description
We are recruiting for a national P&C carrier as they look for a Public Entity Underwriting Director. You'll serve as a strategic leader and subject matter expert in multi-line underwriting within the public entity space, focused on casualty. You'll evaluate both new and renewal accounts-ranging from individual public entities to self-insured groups-while applying consistent strategies around retention, pricing, and coverage forms.

You'll collaborate with brokers, risk managers, and internal business development teams to enhance market presence and broker relationships. This role also involves contributing to product development, including manuscript endorsements and policy wording, and assessing accounts using complex data such as financials, loss trends, and exposure metrics.

This is a high-impact position ideal for a forward-thinking underwriter with a strong production track record and leadership capabilities.

Preferred:

  • Proven success in a production underwriting role with consistent goal achievement.
  • Experience in developing insurance products for public entities.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
