Investment Analyst - Global Consumer (HK based)
Selby Jennings has partnered with a leading multi-strategy investment manager in Hong Kong. The firm is currently seeking an investment professional with experience covering the consumer sector across global markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global consumer markets, trends, and behaviors. This role will involve working closely with the portfolio manager in conducting in-depth fundamental research and analysis to support investment decisions and strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of global consumer markets, including industry trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior.
- Monitor and evaluate macroeconomic factors affecting consumer sectors.
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast company performance and market trends.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to portfolio manager.
- Stay updated on industry news, regulatory changes, and emerging trends.
Requirements:
- Candidates should possess knowledge of global consumer markets and trends.
- 3-8 years of experience in equity research or investment functions, ideally with relevant coverage experience.
- Preference for candidates with recent buy-side experience.
- Any experience or exposure in covering the Japanese market considered an advantage.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using financial software and tools, with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
