Business Development Manager - EV Materials

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for new battery materials, focusing on Nickel, Cobalt, and Lithium.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the battery materials sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Create and execute a 6-12 month sales action plan aligned with overall group objectives.
  • Achieve sales KPIs and budget targets for battery materials.
  • Provide regular commercial updates (weekly/monthly) to direct manager covering sales performance and business development activities.
  • Actively seek new sales opportunities in the China market.
  • Participate in both global and local tender processes.
  • Collaborate and share sales leads across international branches to maximise business potential.
  • Work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams, demonstrating strong teamwork and coordination.
  • Fulfil additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Meet annual revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Maintain an up-to-date customer database and ensure timely completion of sales reports, plans, and entries in the Monday system.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of proven experience in sales and business development within the battery materials industry, including Lithium, Nickel, and Cobalt.
  • Advantageous to have existing business pipelines and industry connections.
  • Established network across producers, traders, consumers, and freight forwarders in the battery materials sector.
  • Solid understanding of battery materials markets and product variations.
  • Results-driven with strong prioritisation skills to meet sales targets effectively.
  • Highly resourceful with strong commercial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing the full commercial cycle-from lead acquisition to order fulfilment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to collaborate across time zones when necessary.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills with a cooperative, team-oriented approach.
  • Effective in resolving conflicts and driving consensus.
  • Fluent in Chinese; proficiency in English is an added advantage.
