Life Actuary - Product Development
A global direct insurance carrier is seeking an experienced actuarial leader to help drive the development, pricing, and strategic direction of Indexed Universal Life (IUL) products. This role serves as a subject matter expert on IUL mechanics, index crediting structures, and actuarial modeling, ensuring products are competitive, sustainable, and aligned with long-term business objectives. You will report to a credentialed senior leader within the Product Development organization and play a key role in shaping the future of the IUL portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and enhancement of IUL products
- Develop, maintain, and validate sophisticated pricing models using advanced actuarial techniques to accurately reflect product behavior and risk profiles.
- Establish and manage pricing assumptions related to mortality, persistency, expenses, funding patterns, rider utilization, and index crediting performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies that balance regulatory requirements, risk management considerations, profitability targets, and competitive market positioning.
What We're Looking For
- FSA (or near-FSA) with significant experience in Indexed Universal Life product development and pricing.
- Deep expertise in IUL product mechanics, index crediting methodologies, and actuarial modeling.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk management principles, and market dynamics impacting IUL products.
- Proven ability to translate complex actuarial concepts into clear, actionable insights for business and leadership audiences.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across product, finance, risk, and distribution partners.
