Trading Application Support Engineer
What You'll Be Doing
- Support and operate large-scale data processing and analytics platforms within a production environment.
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve application and data-related issues impacting system performance and reliability.
- Analyze operational alerts and data exceptions, performing root cause analysis and escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Partner with software engineers to troubleshoot technical problems and identify opportunities for platform improvements.
- Respond to end-user support requests and help maintain a high level of service for business-critical systems.
- Provide first and second-level application support while coordinating with development teams for more complex investigations.
- Assist with establishing support frameworks, operational procedures, and monitoring practices for new applications and services.
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting high-availability or performance-sensitive applications, preferably within financial services, trading, or market data environments.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Exposure to market data, trading workflows, order processing systems, or other real-time data platforms.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with financial messaging and connectivity protocols, including FIX or similar technologies.
- Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot object-oriented code; exposure to Java and Python is beneficial.
- Experience working with source control tools such as Git or SVN.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
- Working knowledge of SQL, including querying, data manipulation, table creation, and general database maintenance.
