Senior Actuary
A top-tier Property & Casualty insurance carrier, proudly rated A+ (Superior) by A.M. Best, is expanding its actuarial team and currently seeking a Senior Actuary. As a senior member of the actuarial team, you will work closely with underwriting, claims, finance, and product development teams to deliver insights that shape strategy and improve performance across commercial lines. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to lead initiatives, mentor junior actuaries, and contribute to the company's long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive actuarial analyses to support both pricing and reserving functions across commercial lines.
- Analyze trends in loss experience, premium adequacy, and exposure data.
- Estimate loss reserves and monitor reserve adequacy across multiple lines of business.
- Partner with underwriting, claims, finance, and product teams to align actuarial insights with business strategy.
- Communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior actuarial staff.
- Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvements.
Key Qualifications:
- 4+ years of actuarial experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
- Proven experience in both pricing and reserving for commercial lines.
- Proficiency in actuarial software and programming tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, R, Python, SAS).
- Strong modeling and data analysis skills, including experience with GLMs and predictive analytics.
- Associate or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS or FCAS) preferred.
