Senior Accounting Manager
Growing financial services organization seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close activities, reconciliations, internal controls, and business performance analysis. This position will partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting key business initiatives and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Oversee financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities
- Manage cash and balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Analyze financial results, budgets, forecasts, and variances
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
- Partner with finance, operations, compliance, and other business teams
- Support audits, regulatory requirements, and special projects
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies
- Mentor and develop accounting staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting
- Advanced reconciliation and financial analysis skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Strong Excel and financial systems experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Preferred Background
- Experience within insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries
- Audit experience
- Experience with large ERP systems and account reconciliation platforms
- Proven track record of process improvement and team development
- Exposure to financial reporting, reserves, compliance, or regulatory environments is a plus
