Sales Director - Risk Analytics - Buy Side

Selby Jennings is exclusively leading the search for a high-growth financial data and analytics boutique, seeking a dynamic Sales Director to join their London team.

This firm has built a unique, contributed data platform that delivers differentiated insights into credit risk across a wide spectrum of counterparties-including sovereigns, financial institutions, corporates, and funds. Their offering is particularly relevant to clients in structured credit, insurance, and asset management, with growing traction across emerging segments such as CLOs and private debt.

Following a strong year of commercial momentum, the business is scaling its EMEA sales function to support the next phase of growth. This is a high-impact role for a driven, entrepreneurial sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced, startup-style environment and is motivated by building something from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Execution: Lead end-to-end sales cycles, engaging senior stakeholders across EMEA within key buy-side verticals.
  • Business Development: Identify, qualify, and convert new opportunities, with a focus on high-value accounts aligned to the firm's ideal client profile.
  • Cross-Regional Collaboration: Partner with US-based sales leadership to ensure a cohesive global go-to-market strategy.
  • Market Expertise: Develop deep knowledge of your target segments and act as a visible advocate in the market.
  • Strategic Input: Contribute to product development and partnership strategies by providing client-driven insights.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain a disciplined, data-driven pipeline with accurate forecasting and CRM best practices.

Candidate Profile:

  • 7+ years of experience selling SaaS or data solutions into financial markets, particularly the buy-side (e.g. insurance, pension funds, asset managers, CLOs, structured credit, private debt, secondaries).
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, fixed income, or capital markets.
  • Proven ability to open new doors and build relationships from scratch.
  • Experience in entrepreneurial or high-growth environments; track record of selling new or disruptive products is highly advantageous.
  • Skilled in leveraging CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) and prospecting platforms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
