Real Estate Acquisitions Analyst/Senior Analyst
Selby Jennings has partnered with a leading opportunistic investment platform seeking to add an analyst or senior analyst to its investment team in Dallas. The firm manages over $1 billion in assets and is actively deploying capital from its current flagship fund. With a flexible investment mandate spanning multiple asset classes and positions throughout the capital stack, the role offers exposure well beyond a traditional real estate private equity platform.
The real estate strategy focuses on opportunistic and value-add investments across a variety of property types, including hospitality, multifamily, and build-to-rent. The platform maintains significant capital available for deployment and provides investment professionals with substantial responsibility and direct exposure to senior leadership, investment committee discussions, and portfolio company initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite prospective investment opportunities across a broad range of real estate asset classes
- Build and maintain complex financial models, including acquisition, development, and operating cash flow analyses
- Support the development of new investment themes and strategic investment initiatives
- Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and analytical materials for internal investment committee meetings and external investor communications
- Participate in all aspects of transaction execution, including due diligence, third-party consultant management, financing processes, and closing activities
- Analyze and monitor portfolio performance through review of budgets, operating plans, capital expenditure programs, and financial reporting
- Work closely with operating partners and management teams to evaluate and execute strategic, operational, and financial initiatives
- Assist with ongoing asset management and portfolio monitoring efforts
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, lenders, investors, consultants, operating partners, and other market participants
Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of relevant experience within real estate private equity, real estate investment banking, real estate investment management, acquisitions, development, or related principal investing environments
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate investment opportunities and synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record
- Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to work within a lean, highly collaborative investment team
