Our client, a fast‑growing financial institution with a strong presence in electronic trading and market‑making, is seeking a talented C++ / Python Developer to join its front‑office technology team in Hong Kong. Sitting directly on the trading floor, you will partner closely with traders and quantitative researchers to design, enhance, and maintain high‑performance systems that support real‑time trading and execution workflows.
This role is ideal for developers who enjoy building practical tools for the desk, solving complex engineering challenges, and working in a fast‑paced environment where technology drives commercial outcomes. This position is open only to candidates based in Hong Kong or those willing to relocate to Hong Kong.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance / low‑latency trading tools and real‑time applications.
- Build and optimise systems for market data processing, execution, monitoring, and strategy support.
- Enhance existing algorithms, tools, and automation frameworks for speed and reliability.
- Work alongside traders and quants to translate desk requirements into technical solutions that can be deployed quickly.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure stability of live trading systems throughout the trading day.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements of trading infrastructure, tooling, and research platforms.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional development experience in C++ or Python (both languages are beneficial).
- Experience with electronic trading, market‑making, or real‑time data systems strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimisation.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, networking concepts, or parallel computing is a plus.
- Ability to work directly with front‑office users and respond quickly to trading desk needs.
- Curious, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast‑moving, high‑ownership environment.
