Private Equity Associate
A private investment firm focused on the healthcare sector is seeking an Associate to join its investment team. The Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals across all stages of the investment process, including evaluating opportunities, conducting due diligence, supporting transaction execution, and monitoring portfolio company performance.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in investment banking or private equity and a strong interest in healthcare investing. Experience evaluating Healthcare IT, tech-enabled healthcare services, provider services, or related healthcare subsectors is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct financial analysis and valuation work for prospective investments.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including operating models, transaction models, and return analyses.
- Perform industry, market, and company research to support investment recommendations.
- Assist in managing due diligence processes by coordinating with management teams, advisors, and third-party consultants.
- Prepare investment committee materials, presentations, and transaction memorandums.
- Support transaction execution from initial evaluation through closing.
- Monitor portfolio company performance through financial reporting, KPI tracking, and operating reviews.
- Assist senior team members with strategic initiatives, add-on acquisitions, and value creation efforts within portfolio companies.
- Maintain coverage of healthcare subsectors and identify key industry trends.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or a related analytical role.
- Strong financial modeling, accounting, and valuation skills.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative capabilities.
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare investing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong work ethic.
Preferred Experience
- Investment banking experience within a healthcare coverage group.
- Prior private equity experience.
- Exposure to Healthcare IT, healthcare services, provider services, payor services, revenue cycle management, or tech-enabled healthcare businesses.
- Experience supporting buy-side M&A transactions and financial due diligence processes.
