Position Summary:
Seeking a highly motivated and analytical Private Equity Associate to join our investment team with a focus on the industrials sector. The Associate will play a critical role in evaluating new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, supporting portfolio companies, and working closely with senior team members and operating partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct industry research and competitive analysis within the industrials sector.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate investment opportunities.
- Participate in all aspects of the deal process, including sourcing, due diligence, structuring, and execution.
- Prepare investment committee materials and presentations.
- Support portfolio company initiatives, including strategic planning, add-on acquisitions, and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with management teams and external advisors to drive value creation.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, preferably with exposure to industrials.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
Preferred Attributes:
- Deep interest in the industrials sector, including manufacturing, distribution, and industrial services.
- Experience with operational improvement initiatives or buy-and-build strategies.
- Chicago-based or willingness to relocate.
