Operational Risk Manager
We are excited to appoint an Operational Risk Manager to strengthen a growing European risk function within a leading proprietary trading environment. This position combines oversight of operational risk practices and prudential obligations across multiple jurisdictions. You will play a key role in shaping frameworks, ensuring regulatory alignment, and embedding effective controls across the business, working closely with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and further develop the firm's control environment, ensuring robust testing, monitoring, and assurance of key controls
- Drive enterprise-wide risk identification and assessment activities, including structured self-assessments and organisation-wide surveys
- Collaborate closely with front office, technology, and assurance teams to integrate risk controls into day-to-day operations
- Coordinate and enhance business continuity arrangements, including scenario testing across locations
- Oversee prudential risk activities under European regulatory standards, covering multiple legal entities
- Lead capital and risk adequacy processes, regulatory disclosures, and reporting requirements
- Represent the organisation in industry forums and liaise with supervisory authorities on prudential topics
Key Requirements
- 5+ years' experience within operational and/or prudential risk, ideally in trading or financial services
- Strong grasp of European prudential regulation, with the ability to translate rules into practical frameworks
- Hands-on exposure to capital adequacy processes, regulatory disclosures, and reporting is advantageous
- Proven track record building and implementing risk frameworks (e.g. control frameworks, risk assessments)
- Solid understanding of financial markets and associated operational risks
- Analytical mindset with precision in handling complex regulatory topics
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience supporting or guiding colleagues
