The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join the team in Hamburg, Germany. This position combines Oil Execution Trading with Middle Office responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to work at the heart of physical and financial energy trading operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oil Execution Trading
- Execute physical oil trades and manage associated logistics in coordination with operations and finance teams.
- Monitor market movements and pricing mechanisms to optimize trade execution strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with counterparties, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and regulatory requirements.
Middle Office & Risk Management
- Capture financial and physical trades (Swaps, Futures, Options) accurately in the system.
- Validate and report P&L and Position/Price Risk at multiple levels of granularity.
- Analyze exposure and support hedging strategies, including FX futures execution.
- Track daily P&L fluctuations and provide clear explanations for variances.
- Manage margin call reporting, clearing account operations, and reconciliation processes.
- Contribute to CTRM system development and process optimization.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven background in oil trading (execution) and/or middle office within commodity markets.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage complex datasets.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with SQL and Python is highly desirable.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and drive improvements.
- Willingness to relocate to Hamburg.
