Role Overview
We are seeking a Network Engineer with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. The role is based in the Amsterdam office and supports the wider Infrastructure team across global sites. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting wired and wireless network environments in a professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement wired and wireless network solutions using industry best practices.
- Execute infrastructure projects within expected timelines while working autonomously.
- Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and manage network hardware, including:
- Cisco switches (Catalyst & Meraki)
- Firewalls (Palo Alto & CradlePoint)
- Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and manage wireless solutions (Meraki & Extreme Networks).
- Diagnose and resolve LAN/WAN and application‑level issues.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation.
- Occasionally travel (less than 5%).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 2-3 years of experience designing and maintaining network infrastructure.
- 2-3 years with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
- 2-3 years of firewall administration experience (Palo Alto preferred).
- Knowledge of common infrastructure protocols and technologies, such as:
SSH, DNS, DHCP, TFTP, NTP, ARP, TCP, UDP, IPv4, BGP, OSPF, IPsec - Ability to troubleshoot routing within cloud networking environments (e.g., AWS CloudWAN).
- Strong understanding of the OSI model.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Comfortable communicating across different levels of the organization.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
