Our client, a leading hedge fund, is seeking a Manager for their Market Data Engineering function to join their industry‑leading technology organisation. In this role, you will oversee the design, development, and operation of enterprise market data systems spanning capture, redistribution, derivation, and both historical and real‑time data access - powering systematic research and trade execution across Equities, Macro, Commodities, and Credit.
As the Market Data Engineering Manager, you will lead a high‑performing team responsible for delivering real‑time raw and enriched data, building robust redistribution platforms, and developing real‑time processing and derivation engines.
Responsibilities:
* Build and scale a Market Data team, including Market Data Analysts covering key data domains.
* Oversee the collection of raw market data via networks, PCAP files, and messaging systems.
* Develop real‑time data processing and derivation engines for multi‑asset systematic strategies.
* Drive the creation of platforms for redistribution of both real‑time and historical data to users and internal systems.
Requirements:
* 5+ years' experience leading development teams within Market Data Engineering.
* Hands‑on expertise in developing real‑time and historical derived‑data systems supporting systematic investment strategies across asset classes.
* Strong knowledge of major exchange market data feed handlers and experience with consolidators.
* Advanced C++ development skills.
* Deep understanding of networking protocols and software/hardware acceleration techniques.
