Overview
A large, U.S.-based healthcare organization is seeking a Junior Google Cloud Platform Engineer to support several internal technology initiatives. This role focuses on building, automating, and deploying cloud‑native applications that enhance internal workflows for clinical and operational teams. The ideal candidate combines strong GCP engineering skills with full‑stack development experience.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Automation & Infrastructure
- Automate file transfers and workflows across GCP projects.
- Trigger LLM package deployment when new files enter designated Cloud Storage buckets.
- Containerize internally built workflow tools using Docker.
- Deploy applications using Cloud Run, App Engine, or GKE.
Application & UI Development
- Build responsive internal web applications.
- Develop UI for an internal AI‑enabled chatbot.
- Create an internal tool for capturing model review feedback.
- Deliver clean, intuitive, and user‑friendly interfaces.
Backend Engineering
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs for file handling and metadata processing.
- Automate metadata generation and manage storage in Cloud SQL, Firestore, or Bigtable.
DevOps & Security
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build).
- Secure applications using Identity‑Aware Proxy (IAP) or OAuth2.
- Ensure adherence to internal security and compliance standards.
Collaboration
- Gather requirements from internal users and project stakeholders.
- Translate functional needs into technical solutions.
- Iterate on UI/UX based on feedback and user testing.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Secret Manager).
- Full‑stack development experience with React, Vue, or Angular, plus backend experience in Python/FastAPI or Node.js.
- Proficiency with Docker and containerized workflows.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Database experience with Cloud SQL, Firestore, or Bigtable.
- Strong Git experience and collaborative development practices.
