Investment Officer

The primary responsibility of the Investment Officer is to develop, maintain, and expand strategic relationships with credit unions in order to support and drive the sale of investment products and services. This role is highly relationship-focused and requires a proactive approach to business development, client engagement, and portfolio growth. The Investment Officer will serve as a trusted advisor to assigned member credit unions, providing valuable insights, education, and tailored investment solutions that align with each client's financial objectives and regulatory considerations.

The Investment Officer will be responsible for managing an established book of business while actively seeking opportunities to grow market share within assigned territories. This includes identifying new prospects, strengthening existing partnerships, and consistently achieving or exceeding individual sales targets set by management. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of fixed income markets, credit union balance sheet strategies, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and client-friendly manner.

Core product offerings include term investments such as fixed income securities distributed through CU Investment Solutions, as well as certificates of deposit offered via Primary Financial's SimpliCD program. In addition to these primary products, the Investment Officer will also promote and facilitate other key financial solutions, including Nonmember Deposit Issuance, Subordinated Debt Issuance, and Loan Participations. The role requires a consultative sales approach, ensuring that recommended solutions are aligned with the client's liquidity, yield, and risk management goals.

The Investment Officer is expected to maintain a thorough understanding of market conditions, interest rate trends, and regulatory developments impacting credit unions. They will collaborate closely with internal teams, including trading, compliance, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of transactions and high-quality client service. Regular reporting, pipeline management, and accurate documentation of client interactions are also essential components of the role.

Strong interpersonal skills, financial acumen, and the ability to build long-term, trust-based relationships are critical for success. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working in a dynamic, sales-oriented environment, with a demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers and deliver measurable growth.
