Investment Banking Vice President | Technology M&A
Overview
Our client, a leading global bulge‑bracket investment bank, is seeking a Vice President to join its Technology M&A team based in San Francisco. This group advises premier technology companies on complex mergers & acquisitions, strategic alternatives, and capital markets transactions. The VP will play a pivotal leadership role in deal execution, client relationship management, and mentorship of junior bankers.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Execution & Lead Advisory
- Lead end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, including sell-side, buy-side, and strategic advisory engagements.
- Oversee financial modeling, valuation analyses, due diligence processes, and preparation of transaction materials.
- Drive day-to-day deal processes with internal teams, clients, lawyers, accountants, and other stakeholders.
- Present strategic insights and recommendations to senior client executives.
Client Coverage & Relationship Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives at public and private technology companies.
- Support senior bankers in developing new business opportunities, including preparation of pitches, industry insights, and idea generation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the technology ecosystem, including founders, CFOs, private equity firms, and venture capital investors.
Leadership & Team Development
- Manage, mentor, and develop Associates and Analysts, ensuring strong analytical output and process excellence.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture with a focus on execution quality and client service.
Qualifications
- 6-10+ years of investment banking experience, with meaningful tenure in technology M&A or a closely related advisory vertical.
- Strong record of successfully executing M&A transactions in software, internet, semiconductors, or broader tech subsectors.
- Exceptional modeling, analytical, and valuation skills, with the ability to oversee and refine complex financial workstreams.
- Strong executive presence and comfort engaging directly with C-suite clients.
- Proven ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree required
