Investment Banking Associate - Pharma Services

A leading global investment banking platform is seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Associate to join its Healthcare coverage team in New York. The role offers significant exposure to sell-side and buy-side M&A, capital markets transactions, and strategic advisory engagements, with a particular emphasis on pharmaceutical services and/or medical technology companies.

This position is well-suited for candidates who have developed strong technical and execution skills and are looking to deepen their sector specialization within a highly entrepreneurial, lean team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a core execution team member on M&A and strategic advisory transactions, including sell-side, buy-side, and merger engagements
  • Lead and manage key analytical workstreams, including:
    • Financial modeling (3statement, DCF, LBO, merger models)
    • Valuation analyses and accretion/dilution analyses
    • Industry, company, and buyer universe analyses
  • Oversee preparation of transaction materials, including:
    • Confidential information memoranda (CIMs)
    • Management presentations
    • Board materials and pitch books
  • Coordinate due diligence processes and interact with clients, buyers, legal advisors, and other transaction counterparties
  • Mentor and review work product of Analysts, ensuring high-quality output under tight deadlines
  • Develop strong expertise in pharma services and/or medtech subsectors, including key industry trends, business models, and valuation dynamics

Qualifications

  • 2-4+ years of investment banking experience, preferably within Healthcare
  • Demonstrated strong M&A execution experience (sell-side and/or buy-side)
  • Experience in or strong interest in pharmaceutical services and/or medical technology; prior deal exposure in these sectors is a plus
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus
