Investment Banking Associate | London
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join a global mid market's Consumer Investment Banking team in London.
This role offers immediate exposure to high-profile, cross-border transactions across the Consumer sector, providing hands-on involvement in complex M&A processes and significant responsibility from day one. It is particularly well-suited to candidates coming from a Transaction Services background within a Big Four firm, looking to transition into advisory and execution.
- Support the execution of M&A and capital raising transactions across the Consumer sector, with a focus on mid-market private equity-backed and founder-owned businesses.
- Work closely with senior bankers on end-to-end deal processes, including financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, and preparation of marketing materials.
- Leverage Transaction Services experience to provide critical insight into quality of earnings, working capital dynamics, and key diligence findings during live transactions.
- Prepare high-quality pitchbooks, CIMs, management presentations, and financial models, ensuring strong analytical rigour and attention to detail.
- Engage directly with clients, investors, and other advisers, contributing to the development of long-term relationships.
- Collaborate with international offices on cross-border mandates, supporting global deal execution.
- Conduct sector research and analysis to stay on top of consumer trends, competitive dynamics, and transaction activity.
Requirements
- Experience: 3-6 years' experience within Transaction Services at a Big Four firm in London, with strong exposure to financial due diligence on M&A transactions.
- Deal Exposure: Demonstrated involvement in buy-side and/or sell-side processes, ideally with Consumer sector exposure (but not essential).
- Technical Skills: Strong financial analysis and accounting expertise, including a deep understanding of earnings quality, cash flow drivers, and balance sheet dynamics, with a desire to further develop modelling and valuation skills.
- Commercial Mindset: Keen interest in transitioning into investment banking and developing broader deal execution and client advisory capabilities.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Team Orientation: Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively in lean deal teams and manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
- Ambition: Self-starter with a proactive mindset, eager to take on responsibility and grow within a high-performance environment.
- Global Exposure: Interest in working on cross-border transactions and engaging with international clients and colleagues.
