About the Opportunity

A growing and highly respected insurance platform is seeking a Production Underwriter to drive new business development while underwriting profitable accounts. This is a high-impact, client-facing role ideal for someone who excels in both underwriting execution and broker relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and underwrite new business across a designated territory or product line
  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with brokers and distribution partners
  • Evaluate submissions to assess risk, pricing, and appropriate coverage structures
  • Bind new business within underwriting authority while maintaining profitability standards
  • Act as a market-facing representative of the organization at industry events and broker meetings
  • Collaborate internally with claims, actuarial, and underwriting teams to support deal execution
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
  • Maintain pipeline visibility and consistently meet or exceed production goals

Qualifications

  • 3-8+ years of commercial underwriting experience with a strong emphasis on production
  • Proven track record of generating new business and hitting production targets
  • Strong broker relationships within a defined region or specialty (preferred)
  • Deep understanding of commercial P&C underwriting (E&S or specialty experience a plus)
  • Excellent negotiation, sales, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a remote, autonomous environment
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; CPCU or other industry designations are a plus
