Head of Risk Modelling
As Head of Risk Modelling, you will own the vision and execution of the modelling and analytics framework. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who combines technical depth with business acumen. You'll lead a high-performing team, design robust models, and ensure data-driven insights translate into measurable outcomes across risk, revenue, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the modelling and analytics roadmap for credit decisioning and related domains.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of predictive models-from concept to deployment and monitoring.
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and analysts in an agile environment.
- Translate business objectives into actionable analytical solutions.
- Deploy real-time models for pricing, fraud detection, and portfolio optimization.
- Drive performance improvements through experimentation and A/B testing.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards, model risk management, and explainability.
- Communicate insights and impact to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Risk teams to align models with platform capabilities.
- Build scalable structures for team growth and operational excellence.
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or credit risk modelling, including leadership roles.
- Proven track record of building and deploying decisioning models end-to-end.
- Strong analytical background, ideally within financial services or lending.
- Hands-on expertise with Python, SQL, Git, and cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with big data technologies.
- Deep understanding of model validation, monitoring, and explainability.
- Advanced knowledge of AI-driven workflows and optimisation.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
