We are currently supporting their search for a Financial Controller to join their office in Amsterdam. This is a key role where you will act as the financial backbone of the business and serve as a strategic partner to the Finance Director.
About the Role
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations across multiple international entities. You will lead reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This role offers a mix of strategic and hands-on responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a sparring partner to the Finance Director and collaborate closely with the CFO
- Support financial operations across 5 entities (NL, US, Canada), with more to be added
- Oversee purchasing and sales transaction accuracy
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Support audits and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
- Drive improvements in financial processes and internal controls
- Manage cash flow, budgeting workflows, and treasury activities
- Coordinate VAT, ICP, and other cross-border tax filings
- Support implementation and optimization of MS Dynamics modules
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting, controlling or finance roles
- Exposure to production finance (CAPEX/OPEX)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Dutch financial reporting; US/Canada experience is a plus
- Proficient in journal entries and structured financial thinking
- Experience with MS Dynamics or similar ERP systems
- Fluent in English, Dutch a strong Plus
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
