Equity L/S Portfolio Manager, Asian Markets
We are currently representing an exciting and top performing hedge fund who are seeking an experienced Long/Short Equity Market Neutral Portfolio Manager to join their team in Singapore. The successful candidate will manage a discretionary equity portfolio with a focus on Asian markets, delivering consistent alpha through rigorous fundamental research and disciplined risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct and manage a market-neutral long/short equity portfolio with exposure to Asian equities.
- Can be a specialist in any one of Indian, Chinese, Japanese, or Korean Equities (language proficiency in the relevant market is highly desirable).
- Can also have Broader Asia coverage.
- Maintain strict adherence to risk limits and leverage guidelines.
- Conduct deep fundamental analysis on companies within chosen coverage universe.
- Generate differentiated investment ideas and implement them with clear catalysts.
- Deliver strong, consistent returns aligned with firm objectives.
Key Requirements:
- Proven expertise in long/short market-neutral strategies.
- Strong understanding of Asian equity markets and macroeconomic drivers.
- Min USD $10mn annual P&L over the past 2-3 years.
- Managed a book of at least USD $300mn in capital.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to communicate investment ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Language skills are an additional benefit, specifically within the coverage regions
