EM Financing Trader
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Emerging Markets (EM) Financing Trader to join a leading financial institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repo, prime brokerage, and total return swaps (TRS), with a focus on trading CE4 (Central & Eastern Europe) and South Africa markets. This is a front-office role requiring a blend of technical expertise, market knowledge, and coding capabilities to enhance trading efficiency and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and manage financing trades across EM markets, with emphasis on CE4 and South Africa.
- Structure and price repo, prime brokerage, and TRS transactions for institutional clients.
- Optimise funding and collateral strategies to support client financing needs.
- Monitor market risk and P&L, ensuring compliance with internal risk frameworks.
- Collaborate with sales, structuring, and operations teams to deliver client solutions.
- Develop and maintain Python-based tools for pricing, risk analysis, and automation of trading workflows.
- Stay informed on regulatory developments and market trends impacting EM financing.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-7 years of experience in EM financing or related trading roles.
- Strong knowledge of repo, prime brokerage, and TRS products.
- Proven ability to trade and manage risk in CE4 and South African markets.
- Solid understanding of collateral management and funding optimisation.
- Coding proficiency in Python for analytics and automation.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment.
