Director - OCFO FP&A Managed Services
Location: Chicago or New York (Remote in some cases)
The Director will play an essential role in achieving the firm's mission by integrating expertise in financial management and performance improvement to meet client requirements. Given the nature of the work, candidates should bring experience supporting organizations within industrials, manufacturing, distribution, or consumer sectors.
Responsibilities
- Design data collection templates, conduct research, lead stakeholder interviews, and consolidate qualitative and quantitative findings into actionable insights.
- Develop financial and operational models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis, and synthesize data into strategic recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver high‑quality client presentations that communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
- Lead and execute finance process improvement efforts across Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, FP&A, and Treasury.
- Drive finance transformation initiatives related to finance strategy, operating model redesign, organizational assessments, shared services/outsourcing, merger integration, and FP&A optimization.
- Manage engagement work plans, timelines, and resourcing to ensure successful delivery.
- Mentor and guide project teams on process analysis, future‑state design, data analytics, implementation planning, and risk mitigation.
- Contribute to the development of intellectual capital, frameworks, methodologies, proposals, and business development efforts.
- Serve as the primary liaison to the client, ensuring high‑quality delivery and identifying opportunities for account expansion.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
- An MBA or other relevant advanced professional qualification is highly desirable.
- 10+ years of consulting and/or industry experience, with a focus on finance transformation, process improvement, M&A, and organizational change.
- Strong understanding of the industrials, manufacturing, distribution, or consumer sectors.
- Finance Function Efficiency & Effectiveness: Benchmarking, process analysis, and redesign; financial modeling; operational improvements; finance operating model design and implementation.
- Key Financial Processes: Experience in Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Budgeting, Forecasting, and Management Reporting.
- M&A: Experience in financial due diligence, financial modeling (i.e., synergy analysis), integration planning, and post‑merger integration.
- Shared Services & Outsourcing: Design and implementation of shared services models; business process outsourcing (BPO), including outsourcing business case development and vendor selection facilitation.
- Proven ability to manage complex engagements, provide strategic direction, and deliver results in dynamic, fast‑paced environments.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, with the ability to direct, mentor, and develop junior staff.
