We are partnered with a global leading multi‑strategy hedge fund seeking a high‑calibre US‑focused Consumer Equity Research Analyst to join an established long/short pod in New York. This is an exceptional opportunity to work directly under a brand‑name Portfolio Manager with a strong, long‑term track record.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will cover US Consumer Hardlines, Softlines, and Gaming, driving differentiated, fundamentals‑driven insights to support idea generation and portfolio construction. This is a high‑impact role within a well‑resourced platform offering meaningful exposure, autonomy, and PnL-linked upside.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary research coverage across US Hardlines, Softlines, and Gaming sectors
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, industry frameworks, and thematic deep dives
- Generate differentiated long and short investment ideas with clear catalysts and edge.
- Conduct channel checks, management calls, expert work, and competitive analysis
- Partner closely with the PM in thesis development, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring of positions
- Present actionable investment recommendations supported by rigorous analysis
Candidate Requirements:
- 2+ years of buyside equity investment experience (mandatory)
- Strong preference for candidates with long/short hedge fund experience
- Deep understanding of the US consumer universe, ideally with direct sector exposure
- Proven ability to produce high‑conviction, well‑structured investment work
- Strong modelling, analytical, and communication skills
- Highly driven, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced pod environment
