Commodities Clearing Sales - Specialist Markets (FFA, Dry Bulk and/or Power)
We are partnering with a well‑established financial institution is expanding and seeking for a Commodities Clearing Sales - Specialist Markets (FFA, Dry Bulk and/or Power). In this role you will have real ownership of clients, direct interaction with credit and ops, and a platform that resonates with Asian commodity flows and access to global large exchanges.
This is a front‑office, revenue‑generating role focused on onboarding, structuring, and growing institutional clients' use of clearing, custody, and margin services for commodity derivatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and grow institutional clearing relationships for exchange‑cleared commodity derivatives
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for clients accessing, recognised commodity exchanges, Central counterparties (CCPs) and Clearing, custody and settlement services
- Advise clients on Exchange rulebooks and clearing requirements, initial and variation margin methodologies and account structures and collateral arrangements
- Support onboarding and expansion of clearing activity across FFA and freight derivatives, Dry bulk markets and/or exchange‑cleared power products
- Collaborate closely with internal partners across Clearing operations, Risk and margin, Credit and onboarding and Legal and compliance
- Partner with clients to increase clearing volumes, product scope and long‑term platform usage
- Maintain strong understanding of the clearing ecosystem, including CCP risk models, default waterfalls and regulatory obligations
Requirements
- Experience in commodities clearing sales, client clearing coverage, or institutional clearing roles within a bank, financial institution, exchange, clearing house, or commodities brokerage
- Direct exposure to exchange‑cleared commodity derivatives, particularly FFA, dry bulk freight and/or power markets
- Strong understanding of exchange and CCP clearing frameworks, including margining, collateral, and onboarding processes
- Proven ability to manage institutional client relationships (trading firms, funds, utilities, brokers) in a regulated environment
- Commercial, front‑office mindset with experience originating or growing clearing relationships
- Comfortable working across operations, risk, credit, legal and compliance teams
