About the Opportunity:
We're working with a fast-scaling regulated crypto exchange platform operating globally. As the regulatory landscape for digital assets continues to evolve, our client is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead their EMEA compliance function and ensure the business remains ahead of regulatory expectations.

This is a pivotal leadership role for a seasoned compliance professional who thrives in dynamic environments and understands the nuances of crypto regulation across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy
    • Head up the compliance function, managing a growing team and setting strategic direction.
    • Build and scale a comprehensive compliance framework tailored to digital assets and crypto operations.
  • Regulatory Engagement
    • Stay ahead of global regulatory developments, particularly across EMEA, and ensure proactive alignment.
    • Manage relationships with regulators and oversee all external reporting obligations.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and controls to meet regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Risk, and Operations to embed compliance into business processes.
  • Product & Innovation Support
    • Advise on compliance implications for new products and services within the crypto ecosystem.
    • Lead regulatory audits and ensure timely, accurate responses to inquiries.
  • Culture & Training
    • Champion a culture of compliance through training, awareness, and best practices across the organization.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience & Expertise
    • 10+ years in compliance, regulatory affairs, or risk management within financial services, fintech, or crypto.
    • Strong familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing digital assets, including AML/KYC and financial crime prevention.
    • Experience engaging with regulators in EMEA.
  • Skills & Attributes
    • Strategic mindset with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
    • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
    • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
