Benefits Technology Analyst
Summary
A growing employee benefits consulting and brokerage firm is seeking a Benefits Technology Analyst to support benefits administration technology platforms and client system implementations. This individual will serve as the technical subject matter expert for benefits administration solutions, managing platform configurations, enrollments, renewals, data integrations, and ongoing system support. The role partners closely with internal service teams, clients, carriers, and vendors to ensure accurate and efficient administration of employee benefit programs.
Role Responsibilities
- Configure, build, and maintain benefits administration and HRIS platforms for employer clients.
- Manage open enrollment implementations, annual renewals, and technology onboarding projects.
- Analyze benefit plan designs, eligibility structures, payroll deductions, and carrier requirements to support accurate system configuration.
- Serve as the primary resource for troubleshooting system issues and providing technical support to clients and internal teams.
- Manage and troubleshoot EDI feeds, including 834 file integrations and SFTP transmissions with carriers and vendors.
- Conduct data audits, identify discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of enrollment data.
- Train clients and colleagues on platform functionality, best practices, and system workflows.
- Maintain compliance with applicable benefits regulations, including COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125, and PPACA requirements.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and operational workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5+ years of experience in benefits technology, benefits administration, HRIS analysis, or employee benefits consulting.
- Experience configuring and supporting benefits administration or HRIS platforms such as Employee Navigator, bswift, PlanSource, ADP Workforce Now, Paycom, Paylocity, Paycor, or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of EDI file feeds, 834 eligibility files, data mapping, and SFTP processes.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and complex data analysis functions.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced client-facing environment.
