A well-established international property & casualty insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Commercial Auto Underwriter to join its growing underwriting team in Anaheim, CA. Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and manage a profitable portfolio of Commercial Auto accounts.
- Evaluate new and renewal submissions, including risk characteristics, loss history, driver profiles, fleet exposures, and financial information.
- Determine coverage terms, pricing, limits, and underwriting appetite based on company guidelines.
- Analyze loss trends and risk factors to ensure profitable underwriting decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail agents, wholesalers, and brokers.
- Collaborate with internal teams including claims, marketing, and risk control to support business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for profitable growth within the assigned territory.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Commercial Auto underwriting experience required.
- Strong understanding of commercial vehicle exposures, fleet underwriting, pricing, and risk selection.
- Experience handling both new business and renewal accounts.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain agency and broker relationships.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
