Algo Trading Developer
In this role, you will take a leading position in the development of greenfield algorithmic trading systems, helping define the foundation of our next‑generation trading architecture.
You will work closely with traders, internal stakeholders, and external partners to deliver high‑impact initiatives that directly support business growth. We're looking for a naturally curious, hands‑on problem solver who thrives in a fast‑paced, global environment and enjoys owning complex technical challenges end‑to‑end.
What You'll Do
- Design and build a low‑latency, high‑throughput EMS / Smart Order Routing platform
- Implement intelligent routing strategies based on execution quality, liquidity, latency, and transaction costs
- Collaborate closely with traders and product teams to refine routing logic and introduce new algorithmic capabilities
- Monitor, analyse, and optimise system performance under live trading conditions
- Contribute to overall system resilience and business continuity
- Provide hands‑on support for production trading issues
- Champion thoughtful adoption of AI to enhance team productivity and business outcomes
- Leverage AI tools (e.g. generative AI, automation platforms, data copilots) to improve decision‑making, efficiency, and development quality
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years developing execution or routing strategies in specific markets (e.g. FX or crypto) using Java
- Strong experience in tick‑level data analysis and real‑time market data processing
- Familiarity with cloud‑based or hybrid market‑access architectures
- Background in algorithmic or high‑frequency trading environments
- Demonstrated experience building low‑latency systems and working with multicast/unicast market data feeds
- Solid understanding of the full electronic trading stack, from application through infrastructure
- Strong grasp of trading system architecture (OMS / EMS / gateways)
- Deep knowledge of concurrency, networking, and memory management
- Experience tuning Linux systems and using performance‑profiling tools
- A proactive, ownership‑driven mindset with the ability to operate effectively in collaborative, fast‑moving teams
Bonus Points
- Experience in crypto, DeFi, or digital asset trading
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and DevOps tooling
