VP, Credit Officer (Project Finance)

A leading global financial services firm is seeking an experienced Vice President to join their Credit Risk function focused on Project Finance. The role involves independent assessment and approval of complex, non‑recourse and structured transactions across sectors such as renewables, data centers, and core infrastructure. The successful candidate will own credit judgments from underwriting through portfolio monitoring, operating in close partnership with business, risk, and governance teams. This position offers meaningful autonomy, senior exposure, and the opportunity to influence credit quality, policy, and risk appetite within a globally active platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and document credit approvals, internal ratings, LGD assumptions, and recommendations for final decision making
  • Continuous monitoring of the credit quality of the portfolio, including quarterly reviews, and watchlist processes
  • Partner with multiple business lines, portfolio management, legal, and governance teams on structuring and new business initiatives

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in credit risk within financial services, with a strong focus on Project Finance, Infrastructure, and/or Commodity Finance
  • Hands on exposure to validating Obligor Risk Ratings, Basel IV parameters (LGD), and other financial metrics
  • Proficient understanding of US Market and regulatory practices
  • Strong collaboration skills required both across the risk division and with other partners such as business lines, legal and compliance teams
