Vice President, Portfolio Valuations

Overview
The Portfolio Valuations Vice President leads the valuation process for a diverse set of alternative investments. This includes overseeing valuation governance, reviewing complex models, challenging investment team assumptions, managing external valuation providers, and preparing materials for valuation committees, auditors, and senior leadership. The VP serves as a key technical expert and cross functional leader within the platform.
Responsibilities
* Lead quarterly valuation processes across private credit, private equity, structured products, real assets, venture capital, and other alternative strategies.
* Review and challenge valuation models, assumptions, and methodologies prepared by junior team members.
* Present valuation conclusions and key judgments to committee members and senior executives.
* Act as primary point of contact for external valuation agents, auditors, and regulatory reviewers.
* Evaluate market indicators, pricing data, and transaction activity to support valuation inputs.
* Identify valuation risks, model weaknesses, and data quality issues and recommend corrective action.
* Oversee documentation including valuation policies, methodology guides, model governance materials, and audit support files.
* Lead projects focused on process improvement, automation, system enhancements, and data governance.
* Train, mentor, and manage junior team members.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in valuation advisory, private credit or equity investing, investment banking, or audit with significant valuation exposure.
* Deep understanding of valuation techniques for private and illiquid assets.
* Ability to independently review, refine, and challenge complex valuation analyses.
* Experience interacting with auditors, regulators, valuation agents, and senior leadership.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to articulate valuation conclusions and uncertainties.
* Strong project management and cross functional leadership capabilities.
* CFA preferred.
