An international real estate investment firm with a strong presence in the Netherlands is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Amsterdam-based team. This opportunity is ideal for finance professionals looking to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced, and globally oriented environment.
Role Overview
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of Dutch Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review financial data prepared by property accountants
- Verify journal entries and accounting classifications
- Manage month-end accounting entries and general ledger postings
- Coordinate payment processes and support liquidity forecasting
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Assist with statutory reporting and audit processes
- Perform financial controls, including SOC 1 reviews
- Support VAT processes and contribute to project initiatives
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally within real estate or investment accounting
- Familiarity with Dutch GAAP, IFRS, and general accounting principles
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English; Dutch language also preferred
- Experience with Yardi or similar accounting systems is an advantage
