Overview
A confidential, Ohio‑based private investment firm is seeking a Private Equity Associate or Analyst to join its investment team. This individual will support all aspects of the investment lifecycle, including deal evaluation, execution, and portfolio company support within the middle market.
The role offers significant exposure to senior investment professionals and entrepreneurs and is well suited for candidates seeking long-term growth within private equity.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including operating models, LBOs, and return analyses
- Conduct in-depth industry, market, and company research to support investment decisions
- Execute comprehensive financial, commercial, and operational due diligence
- Prepare investment committee materials, including investment memoranda and presentation decks
- Assist with transaction execution, including coordination with external advisors
- Support portfolio company monitoring, including quarterly performance reviews and valuations
- Assist with add-on acquisition analysis and execution
- Support business development initiatives through market mapping and opportunity research
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members (for Associate-level hires)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Analyst: 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, valuation, commercial banking, or similar
- Associate: 2-3+ years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, or related fields
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
